Meet Evan

Hi there! I’m Evan Bollinger, the owner & operator of Kiln Help.

My path into pottery equipment repair began with my love for creating pottery, passed down to me from my grandmother who was a gifted multi-media artist and ceramicist. She was thrilled when I took an interest in pottery in high school and loved coaching me as I developed my own pottery practice.

I took to the wheel quickly and eventually grew into a full-time production potter, making and selling my work as well as creating for other studios. I setup a personal outdoor studio, including learning the ins and outs of my own kiln and wheel. I’ve always been a tinkerer and enjoyed troubleshooting the equipment required to make high quality pottery at a high volume.

This led me to take on more repair work, become a parts distributor for Geil, Skutt, Cress, Olympic, L&L, Amaco Brent, Shimpo, Cone Art, Evenheat, Bailey, Peter Pugger, to train to service kilns and wheels at the Skutt headquarters, and to perform warranty work as a Skutt contractor. As demand for my services grew, I decided to dedicate myself to repair work full-time and founded Kiln Help, which is a fully-insured business servicing all of Southern California.

For me, pottery isn’t just a way of expressing myself, it’s also a way of connecting with people. I have truly enjoyed getting to know so many passionate potters and to help get them back to making safely and effectively. Thanks for visiting my website and I hope I’ll have the opportunity to support your pottery practice soon!
